Ronnie Soutar has been involved in aquaculture for over thirty years. He is currently employed as Head of Veterinary Services for Scottish Sea Farms, one of Scotland’s leading salmon farmers.
He holds an MSc in Aquatic Veterinary Studies from Stirling University and is a Past-President of the Fish Veterinary Society. He represents fish vets on the Scottish Government’s Farmed Fish Health Framework working group and is a current member of the Veterinary Products Committee, advising the VMD on medicines issues in aquaculture.
In May 2022 Ronnie completed a nine-year term as a trustee of Scotland’s foremost animal welfare charity, the Scottish SPCA, having been Chair of the Board for the previous four years.
