Máirín-Rua is an aquatic vet from Cork, Ireland.
She is currently based in the Scottish Highlands, where she works in the salmon industry.
Her main passion is for fish welfare. She has worked with salmon, common carp, tilapia and goldfish.
Her current focus is the management and improvement of fish health and welfare in an industrial context. To this end she is exploring the potential of Artificial Intelligence powered systems.
When not on the water she can be found up a nearby hill.
